From May 22nd to 26th of 2017, in Opatija in Hotels Adriatic and Admiral 40th largest and most significant scientific and technical ICT gathering in this part of Europe, MIPRO 2017 was organized. The conference gathered more than 1200 participants from about 40 countries from nearly all continents and presented almost 350 scientific and professional papers, 12 thematic consultations, seminars and workshops.
On the third day of the conference on 24th of May in the Congress Hall B of Hotel Admiral in Opatija Davor Dinjar, a consultant at the Innovations & Development department, presented the scientific paper “Efficient Social Network Analysis in Big Data Architectures” (I. Sorić, D. Dinjar, M. Štajcer, D. Oreščanin).
Social network analysis (SNA) is the application of graph theory to understand, categorize and quantify relationships in a social network. It can be a great tool to improve analytic capabilities in any field, for example, marketing analytics, churn prediction, health care, etc.
ICT experts were able to participate in roundtables on topics related to the contribution of digital society development through the development of broadband access in areas of no commercial interest, then the transformation of computer science education in Croatian primary schools and the future of 5G mobile networks in the road to gigabit society. You were also able to find out about the digital radio DAB + in Croatia, the security of contactless payment instruments and the digital component of Industry 4.0 and potentials in the Croatian economy, and also research and development in small and medium-sized ICT companies was discussed.
